All kinds of compressor parts

The motor can be considered one of the most important parts of the air compressor because the main force for air compression will be provided by this part. Engines can also be divided into diesel engines and electric engines based on the source of energy supply. Today, electric motors are the most used. The power, size and speed of the engines are also different.

Coupling is a part that transfers power between the pump and engine shaft screws. Couplings have high flexibility and are installed on the shaft and pump motor and have toothed edges. Coupling teeth are covered by a back bush (one-piece or two-piece) that has internal teeth, and the teeth of the gears engage with the internal teeth of the bush and transmit torque from the engine to the shaft.

The piston is actually the moving part inside the cylinder and moves another part called the connecting rod. These pistons move up and down using the explosive force of the fuel and move the engine. In the air compressor, the power is transferred from the crank to the piston.

The piston ring is one of the other parts of the air compressor, which has 3 different subgroups called the pressure ring, the oil ring, and the sealing ring, each of which has separate tasks. The pressure ring prevents the penetration of dense gas into the crankcase, the oil ring prevents the oil from leaving the rings, and finally the sealing ring is used to prevent the penetration of liquids into and out of the piston. These rings should stick together as much as possible and be the same size and not prevent the free movement of the piston in the cylinder.

Among other air compressor parts that can have many and effective applications, heat exchangers can be mentioned. This piece is used to increase reliability and reduce energy consumption.

Adjusting the amount of air and fuel entering the cylinder and creating space for smoke to escape is done by the safety valve. Also, the inlet and outlet air is controlled by thrust and suction valves. These valves are usually vulnerable parts of compressors.

Another one of the most important parts of air compressors is its tank, which is actually responsible for storing the compressed air structure. Each type of compressor uses different tanks. The pressure gauge is also known as the manometer and is installed on the tank and shows the air pressure inside the tank.

Gears are usually found in screw compressors and are responsible for power transmission, and they usually have very hard and resistant material.

Filters are also one of the most important parts of the air compressor and each of them has its own tasks. Oil filters are used to purify the oil circulating around the engine and prevent it from interfering with the operation of the cylinder and pistons. Air filters are used to purify the air and prevent small particles from entering the combustion chamber. Separator filters are used to separate solid and liquid particles from the gas stream and are usually installed at the beginning of the compressor's work process on the inlet air path and at the end at the beginning of the output path.

When the compressor changes the volume of the gases and makes them more compressed, the temperature of the air and gas also increases, that's why the thermal sensor is used in the air compressor to warn if the temperature increases too much. Also, the air compressor pressure sensor is used to prevent excessive compression of gases. The pressure sensor is also known by other names such as pressure transmitter, pressure transmitter, pyrometer, manometer, pressure transducers and pressure indicator.

Other parts of the air compressor include intercooler and aftercooler. A number of compressors compress gases in several different stages. Sometimes, in these multi-stage processes, the temperature rises very high, and to deal with this, a cooling system is installed in the air compressor parts before each stage of pressure change. This part is known as intercooler. Also, in the parts where the temperature of the compressed gas output is important, a cooling system named after cooler is used.

The radiator is one of the parts of compressors that is present in all different types of compressors. The task of this part is basically to circulate the cooling liquid around the engine and finally it causes the temperature of the engine body and other parts to reach a balance. In addition to all the mentioned things, there are other parts in compressors, which include regulators, valves, cut-off switches, start relays, etc., and each of them has specific tasks.
